  1. Greyhounds make brilliant pets……they have an interesting habit of leaning on you. They don’t need lots of exercise they are lovers of lying around on couches.

  2. Thank you for showing how wonderful Greyhounds are. My bff and her husband had 2 , Ipo and Severus, who were the sweetest beings you could imagine. Being raised only for racing they didn't now how to "dog" but once they discovered toys and treats and running just for the fun of it they lived their best life and brought so much joy to us.

  3. His story is so much like my greyhound rescue, Timmy. They have identical markings, the grey brindle. Timmy was at first afraid even of the celling fans – not even running, just their existence up there on the ceiling! It took him about a month or two to learn how to be a pet, and then he was the most affectionate sweetheart you can imagine. Whenever I just made eye contact with him, he would immediately come over and push his head into me for ear scratches. He was unusually tall – even for a greyhound – so when he got the zoomies he crossed the room in just one stride, very funny to watch. And of course his speed was unreal to behold, like a rocket. When other dogs would run together after a ball, he would literally (really) run circles around the herd of dogs as they ran, he was so fast. And after even the briefest of runs, when he got back home he was a couch potato for the rest of the day. It's been some years but we still miss Timmy terribly.

  4. I work with a lady who keeps her dog(s) outside. The male dog died and she DEMANDS the female dog to stay outside. It's really sad 😕 The lady complains her female dog cries and whines.

  5. You are on a wonderful journey – I have shared my
Iife with retired greyhounds for 25 years – all wonderful, all different, all much loved. Every day with a greyhound is a gift – welcome to the family🎉🎉🎉🎉

  6. Good on you. We got a street dog from a shelter and she's just gotten sweeter and sweeter as she's gotten to trust us, too. It's a wonderful thing to be a part of.

  7. Hello fellow Taswegian! I've got a few friends who have taken in Greyhounds re-homed from the racing industry. All have nothing but great things to say about them.

Good on you, I wish you many many years of joy together.

  8. In the early '70's my grandparents got a dog from Florida which was a rescue ex-racing grey hound, she was so sweet, but really energetic. They had a big back yard with a 7ft fence and one day she decided to jump it, run down the ally, and leave the city, by the time she was thankfully found she was over 60 miles away, in under 2 hours. Dad and me figured she just straight out started running at an average 35mph, and didn't stop till she tuckered out. Greyhounds are very good dogs, too bad some people still abuse them for their entertainment, racing them to death, then abandoning them like used napkins when they don't win enough, sick world sometimes eh. RIP Honey, hope yer chasing dreams all over the universe. 🙁 We are all a part of the creature/animal world and should respect each other as such.
