  1. Corrections:
The Black Death was just the name of one wave of Bubonic Plague outbreaks in Europe. The Plague kept coming back about every 20 years for around 200 years. I listened to a college level lecture course on the Great Courses about that. It also is now believed that it wasn't just one virus that cause all the deaths. There are Anthrax spores found on cattle carcasses that date to the years of the plague. Modern research points toward there being a cocktail of diseases that caused the deaths to be so high.
The Black Death wasn't called that because the bubos turned black. That is a later term used to refer to the horror of the plague. in the Middles Ages they didn't call it the Black Death.

  2. I wonder what part of wojtek the bear is actually true, I know there obviously was a bear in their regiment but did it really bring the ammo crates to the soldiers, did it really spar with the soldiers? It seems plausible but I don’t know what part of it is true.

  3. What about wolves 🐺 that fought in WW1 against Russia 🇷🇺 and Germany 🇩🇪. Even it was forgotten, can you do that history

  4. Folklore purports that the nursery rhyme "Ring Around the Rosies" is based on the Bubonic plagues sweeping the medieval world.
Ring around the rosies: described the lesions, red festering sores surrounded with a black ring of necrotic tissue.
    Pocket full of posies:
People carried handfuls of posies or other fragrant flowers to be held in front of their noses to make the stench bearable.
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down: The cremation of bodies and sometimes the burning of homes where the entire family had succumbed.
The plague association was first put forth around 1960 or 1961, so the actual connection is highly doubtful.

  5. I just bought the game Iron Harvest on steam, one of the units you can command is a bear that carries medical supplies named Wojtek. When listening to this video and heard they named it, I jokingly said wojtek then spit out my drink when I was right

  6. Emu Wars would make a fun game..They could throw in some kangaroos and koalas and salties.. Australia would make a good hunting game..

  7. So why do we take Australia seriously now? They lost two wars against Emu’s. At least with the bear soldier, no one out ranks a bear. Unless you want to be mauled to death.

  8. How to piss off a Australian.
"Imagine loosing a war to birds"

Also auzies are hilarious because they couldn't figure out hot to fight emus and get mad very easily 😂

  9. There is an illness that is worse than the dancing mania because those afflicted with this new illness don't die from it, hence they continue to live spreading mental illness to people of all ages in all parts of the world through a vector of disease called Tiktok which originated from where else but China
