Terrible entanglements leave visible scars. We are not sure when this seal was rescued before, but his mark suggests that it was an intense and painful cut. We are sorry we caught him again. Rescues are traumatic for the animal. Still, we prefer to recapture an already rescued animal before we let one with a current entanglement get away.
The rescue run yields another rescue: a loop of packing strap needs to be removed from a seal’s neck. His entanglement is so fresh that we will never mistake him for an entangled animal. He is fortunate in an unfortunate situation.

I like to melt down plastic to a liquid and make stepping stones with it. I dig an impression of the shape I want it to be in the ground melt the plastic in a big pot outside and pour it into my impression(careful it's hot) and add little stones and stuff laying around to give it color and dimension and let it dry. I like to pour it about 3 inches deep. One time I pressed sea shells into it and lifted them out to leave a pattern of the sea shell. it looks really good. I also did the same thing with feathers.
