Tesla said it will assist a police investigation into a fatal crash involving a Model Y sports utility vehicle in China earlier in November, while suggesting the incident was not caused by a malfunction. READ MORE: https://str.sg/w9i2

Data taken from the car showed no proof the brake pedal had been applied before the crash, and video showed the brake lights remained off, the electric carmaker said in a statement. Instead, the accelerator had been heavily engaged in the lead-up to the accident, which killed a motorcyclist and high school student on a bicycle.

Tesla will “actively provide any necessary aid” to the local police probe, which may involve a third-party investigator, the statement said.

  1. Brakes worked by the looks of the actions just before the drivers taking off at breakneck speed. IMHO this has nothing to do with the Tesla and everything to do with the driver.

  2. "These complaints were examined by the NHTSA, which found that incidents of sudden unintended acceleration in Teslas were a result of driver error, and not due to any design flaw in the vehicle. The NHTSA reminds drivers that there are 16,000 preventable crashes per year in the US due to pedal error and cautions drivers to be aware of this problem."

  3. Tesla brakes and acceleration are mechanical – not software driven, the driver was most likely at fault. Lets see what the investigation concludes, but Tesla has all the data, which says the user had his foot fully down the whole time on accelerator pedal.
Remember the Toyotas in the 90s where people said it accelerated out of control, turned out it was mostly driver error.

  4. No matter what people say, the video shows the car itself seemed to be out of control probably because of its software or mechanical problems, and he driver possibly panickedly did not know how to stop the car, but he did manage to not hit as many cars and people in his way as he could.

  5. THIS IS MY BIGGEST FEAR!!! On a ride by wire engine controlled motorcycle. I would be real easy to get it under control because of the manual clutch. But in some situations that could turn out to be fatal.

  6. 1. The driver is actively avoiding people and motorcycle with sharp attention.
    2. Brake light was on when the car accelerated off the side walk

I don't believe this is human error. There must be something wrong with the Tesla

  7. Since first i don't wanna believe an A.I no matter what kind of A.I was it, because i really know how it's logic… The risk was so great.

    While human 11+1=22
    While robot 11+1= 12

  8. china must ban foreign produced auto pilot drivers. auto pilot software source code must be checked and sha512 verified by local authorities of governments. otherwise elon can drive them as us made weapon. universal traffic rules must be controlled by united nations.

  9. I happened to have a broken keyboard, I pressed the number 3 on the keypad, but the screen entered G, the computer insisted that I pressed G, I pressed 33333 continuously, the computer insisted that I pressed GGGGG, I Said I pressed 3, the computer said I pressed G, and finally you took the text output from the computer and said that I have been pressing G. This is not a problem with the computer. Can I still not distinguish between 3 and G? The above text is quoted from bilibili

  10. Very suspicious. No footage showing the driver getting into the car? Expensive car driving in a very poor area with almost zero congestion?

  11. That happens when a crazy ceo takes money from the company to finance other 2 companies! Just like FTX did, elon would be the biggest scam! Worst than ftx, you’ll see

  12. 'gas' pedal malfunctioned so did the break pedal and the ignition button and the handbreak all at the same time, this is the only thing that makes sense. Human error is a myth
