Following a recent bombing in Istanbul Turkey has launched AIRSTRIKES in Syria against Kurdish forces. The USA is an Ally of the Kurds and has asked Turkey to cease all military action. Russia, who supports the existing ruling party, has also asked Turkey to stop increasing the risk of political tension. This comes at at time when INFLATION rose in October to 86% and is now at the highest level since for 24 Years. The rise in GAS, OIL & COMMODITY Prices caused by the UKRAINE WAR continues to put pressure on Turkey and the TURKISH LIRA exchange rate has continued to Plummet and is now above 18 to 1 US Dollar. The Turkish Central Bank is running Dangerously low on Currency and is no longer able to support the Lira.

  1. How are countries in the west adjusting to our new world. Are we turning ploughs into guns? How fast? How much? Are our militaries' anticipating needed inventories for both Ukraine wars and the potential war with China?

  2. Economics for Beginners:
In all economics, planning and a realistic view of the future is absolutely necessary.
The most important rule is simple and most people know it:
You must always spend less money than you earn.
Borrowing money for purchases is more complex:
All plans that involve installments and interest must contain a financial buffer that can support the economy in the worst possible future scenario.
    – Just to be safe, a little extra must be put aside before the plans become reality.
This economic policy has been used by my wife and I throughout our lives and it is benefiting us now that we are approaching retirement age.

These basic rules of sound economics have not been understood by Erdogan.
He uses the economic system of Turkey to maintain his power.
In the end, he may drive Turkey into economic ruin in order to stay in power.
The welfare of 80 million Turks is up against one man's ego.

The same problem is experienced by many other dictators.
Today, only dictators in countries with large, natural resources such as oil sources, rare metals and the like have avoided the debt spiral.
The exception is North Korea, which still uses financial support from China to survive.
China does not need millions of uneducated refugees from a collapsed North Korea.

    Correct me if I'm wrong

  3. Wow! 1k comments and 2k views in just a couple days. Your the go-to-guy for me international finance on YouTube, Joe.

Question: Turkish inflation rate if 86% – is this consumer, producer or M2 money supply inflation rate. If consumer or producer, then what is their most recent annual M2 inflation rate?

  4. Many of the problems in the Middle East are a direct result if the demarcation of national borders drawn up by Winston Churchill and Gurtrude Bell. These two consciously constructed things to divide tribal and language groups so as to consolidate British power and interests. The Kurds are the typical case where the Kurdish language group was purposely divided between Iraq, Syria , aTurkey and Iran. The British had promised the Kurds a national state and reneged in the deal when the Kurds started to act up about it the British bombed their villages providing the British military a chance to develop bombing tactics which were used in WW2.

  5. A geographic boundary really is meant to enclose a single tribal group. More than one culture within a country will always lead to rows, arguments and fighting

  6. Islamo-Fascist-ISIS-Lover Erdogan better not increase his occupation and invasion of truly democratic Rojava. And, no, the Rojavan YPG/YPJ are not terrorists and are not the PKK either but Recep considers anyone not ISIS and not his puttfucking generals to be terrorists which is why he attributes the bombing in Istanbul a PKK/YPG act.
Erdogan absolutely hates Kobane in Rojava because its democratily-run female militia, the YPJ, defeated his misogynist Moslem army there; He even oprimistically but wrongly predicted that Kobane would fall in two weeks which sounds like Putin’s promise to defeat Kiev in three days. Kobane did not fall then and nor did Kiev now. Autocrats Putin and Erdogan are from the same mold, albeit from different nationalities and cultures.
Turkish Lavrentyev asserted that US involvement in Rojava prolongs the conflict, which is the same phrase Russian Lavrov said about US aid to Ukraine. Both Turkey and Russia hope to wipe out all democratic governances.

  7. Great video! However, the US did not go to Syria because of the reasons you mentioned. The arab spring, of which the Syrian war was born, was a whole decade after 2001; isis did not exist in 2001 yet, so the US did definitely not go to Syria because of the attack.

  8. Love your content, but try to refrain from showing bar charts that do not show the entire scale, that's very misleading in terms to true relation. That inflation scale from 21 to 36 gives you the impression of multiple x increase, thus skewing perception. Informative episode, thanks.

  9. USA backed Kurd's bomb Istanbul this is the revenge attacks on Kurdish regions seems USA deep in this mess also using Kurds in Iran to protest

  10. Quick question. Turkeys inflation rose very quickly but since interest rates have been dropped it has still risen but much slower. Also of note the starting rate of 19% was very high to begin with. Would this indicate that perhaps dropping rates is actually the correct response?
