AH so the Ford ranger can’t wade upto a meter in water then
the air intake is directly above the wheel arch next to the indicator on range / landrovers so they can drive through no problem

He went too fast, the ranger has a 800mm wade depth (above the tyres) but that's at 7kph (4mph), the airbox has a valve to let water out but he went too fast so the water rushed past and straight into the engine. Driver error, ranger at the correct speed would easily do that
These latest drivers must have watched the vids where the engines got flooded an stalled.
