SHOCKING Video Shows Georgia Deputies Brutally Beating Black Inmate | Roland Martin

Spread The Viralist

In Georgia, a black man arrested for traffic violations and drug possession charges on September 3rd was beaten and thrown against a wall by Camden County deputies.

The security video we are about to show you has no audio, so I will walk you through what happened.

I will warn you what we are about to show may be triggering. I am giving you an opportunity to leave the room or look away.

A guard is standing outside the cell where 41-year-old Jarrett Hobbs is being held.

Here you see four other guards come. One unlocks the door, and they enter the cells.

As soon as the deputies enter the cell, one deputy immediately goes for Hobbs’ neck.

The other deputies follow, attempting to subdue Hobbs. Now there are four deputies on Hobbs, punching him. They eventually pull him out of the cell, slamming him against the wall while still beating him.

On Monday, Roland spoke with Civil Rights Attorney Harry Daniels about the Hobbs case.

  1. Simple battery is defined under Georgia law as intentionally causing harm to another person or touching them in an insulting or provoking nature. If you are convicted of simple battery you face the standard misdemeanor sentence of up to $1,000 in fines and up to one year in prison

  2. Why do all the white detention officers look under the age of 18 and look like they just got hired. Be mindful of how white people admire and or hate you. Motives!! These kids acting as detention officers is all the more reason to put YOUR KIDS IN HBCUs.

  3. Start making police academy a 4 year program and you can hopefully weed out the bad apples. 12+ weeks to be to an officer is a joke and is one of the reasons why you have so many bad apples in the profession. Make them carry their own liability insurance, so they'll think twice about committing these crimes… With all the lawsuit money they are wasting on for these bad apples, they could be redirecting that money into higher salary for officers who complete the 4 year program…

  4. They should have network cameras that stream directly to DOJ, cloud or off site servers so there would be no question about video availability.

  5. Doesn’t matter if he’s black this is wrong period to any human being. The black officer is just as guilt bc in his report he backed the other officers just so he could keep his job

  6. We cannot expect anything other than justice for these white supremacist children working as law enforcement. Look at them very young. Where did they learn is hate from. Their ideologies once discovered I am sure they have hatred for Blacks. There is no love in this. A lot of these white supremacist children work in places of power and authority that is what they do.

For them – the safe space to inflict maximum pain and injury and death on black men in their control. Monsters. Put them away.

  7. They were out for blood. They were pouncing on him. These are young white boys with hate and vengeance in their hearts, minds and hands. They wanted to kill this man. If there was no video this would have gone on that a black man will attack for white jail guard. When is this going to stop. When are people going to realize that black people are being targeted killed regardless of where they happen to be. What is the problem. Why is it still happening. I am almost 60 years old and I have been seeing this for as long as I can remember. I first became aware of this when I first saw Rodney King getting beaten to death in California. Every instance since I have been seeing this traumatizing painful brutality. A you going to tell me that I am not traumatizing scared of white people. Wel, l let me tell you I am afraid and scared of white people.

  8. The question is what happened prior to the video? Why was it that five officers needed to go to this man's cell? This criminal, punk will get paid for this as usual…crime does pay.
