Rice doesn't repair water damage… It will NOT repair anything. The only way to "repair" a phone that was dropped in water (and isn't water resistant) is to drop it in more water (but this time, distilled, mineral free water) and rinse it well in there to remove all the minerals from the first drop in water. Do that like 3 times to ensure as little mineral is left. Then shake the water off and let it dry for about a week, shaking it every few hours (now you can put it in rice if you want). It's not water that breaks your electronics. It's the mineral in them that creates pathway for the current to flow to places it shouldn't and then it corrodes in others, impeding the flow of electrical current. Simply dumping it in rice, doesn't remove the minerals. All it does is absorb the moisture a bit better than air, but moisture is just water vapor. The minerals that were in the water are left behind. Pure distilled water is non conductive. Add salt (minerals) to it and suddenly it becomes conductive. Please stop with the whole "put it in rice" BS, it's as bad as telling people they can charge their phone with a microwave. Just a plan to kill the phone.
