At least 59 people were killed in a Halloween incident in Seoul’s Itaewon neighborhood Saturday night, according to Yongsan Fire Department chief.
At least 150 others were also injured, the chief added.
The cause of the deaths were not immediately provided but the chief said many people fell amid the Halloween festivities, resulting in casualties. #CNN #news

According to BBC, last year there was police control at entrance of that alley, but this year no police was there, even though this year there was more than double crowd. That alley width 3,5-4 meters only. Whose responsibility is on such heartbreaking horrifying tragedy? Expressing my deep condolence.

From how I see it a mass of crowd that strength standing shoulder to shoulder squeezing one another with no space enough to breathe you are liable to breathe CO2 around. Inhaling enough amount of CO2 could render one disoriented, cause dizziness, gasping for air due to lack of oxygen and eventually collapse. One person collapses and another and another until eventually we will have this toppling effect when the person at the back steps on that person lying on the ground in front of him so on and on. This leads to crushing NOT stampede. Tell me did I miss anything…Sorry for the loss
