I had to go to Philadelphia about 10 years ago to unhook electrical services. They got 6 inches of rain in one hour. The storm drains looked like old faithful. The water was shooting out of the. It destroyed the strip mall were we went. A back,hair salon and about 7 other stores were completely flooded out ,up on a hill no less. What a mess,nature can sure be a mother

When an earthquake starts I always wait a few seconds to see if it’s gets stronger. Usually not and I stay where I am. If it does get stronger I take cover.

If you are going to talk about experiences with mother nature; how about the 1980 tornado in Grand island, Nebraska. Tornados lasted for over 2 hours, 300 million dollars in damages, and 7 total tornados that day. 1 was rated an f4 and 3 others an f3.
I think only 7 people died but over 200 injuries.

I'd never experienced an earthquake until I arrived in Turkey in 1999. There was a massive earthquake that killed, if I remember correctly, 10s of thousands. There were aftershocks for days after. I'd booked into a hostel, but me and most of the others slept outside in a park, worried that the building could collapse
