Rain and thunderstorms have eased across Victoria, but the Bureau of Meteorology warns the risk of flooding isn’t over yet. There are currently 17 flood warnings in place across the state including five evacuation orders in Maribyrnong, Rochester, Charlton, Murchison and Wangaratta. Country Victoria remains on high alert with emergency services focusing on Rochester, Shepparton and Carlton. Shepparton, in the state’s north, is one of the most at risk areas today with floodwaters expected to exceed the devastating 1974 levels.
