  1. Why weren’t people, the press, university professors, pastors, social media, msm, big tech, corporations and politicians recognizing that this phenomenon was taking place in the 2020 riots and during the covid pandemic?

My fear is that now… the general population that would pull the lever, so to speak, would not be 64% as in the Milgram experiment but close to 80 to 90%.

It’s ironic that we live in an age where the emphasis on individuality is so strongly sought after and promoted from ever corner of the globe that we have more than ever before the top down oppression of conformity by those in our society.

  2. had my paper 1 psych mock today and ran out of time to revise social influence but i watched this video last night and i think you saved me

  3. The rookie cops who helped Chauvin kill George Floyd fall into this…according to a report by ABC7 in LA….

“During the arrest, as Chauvin held Floyd down with his knee, Lane asked Chauvin twice whether they should roll Floyd over.

"No, staying put where we got him," Chauvin replied,

"I am worried about excited delirium or whatever," Lane said. And Chauvin replied again, "That's why we have him on his stomach."

Many people would simply follow “authority”…especially if their job depends on it.

  4. I believe that a Milgram-experiment-like test is used to evaluate potential math instructors at my university. They have to reach the maximum shock level to get hired.

  5. The remaining 1/3 in Milgrims experiment may have resisted the coercion WITHIN the experiment, but put them in the real world, invent a 'noble purpose', reward them with money, power, authority, throw in some special conditioning/training and 'team spirit', dehumanize the victim, and add on some penalties for those who dare to dissent – the result is almost total conformity. Its not just the military and police that are subject to this system – its doctors, scientists, historians, academics of all sorts, politicians, the media, etc etc. Principles of ethics and truth are routinely compromised by the need to conform and the fear of being rejected. The top 1% depend on it, and now we are going to pay for it – we are so screwed.

  6. groupthink (lack of individual thought) is the Hallmark of PC culture. PC is self-perpetuating because it forbids solution to the problems it creates, as the solution required would be politically incorrect. PC is a genius ideology that will eventually destroy us and can be blamed on automatic mimicry and normative social influence.
