For sure, there’s been no shortage of laudable rescues, stories of kindhearted humans rising to the occasion on behalf of animals. 10. Highway Kitty
You never know when you’ll find yourself in the midst of a life-changing decision. But one brave woman found herself in just such a situation that was captured on her GoPro. While waiting for a stoplight to change, she spotted a kitten in the middle of a busy intersection. Thanks to some quick-thinking, and a surge of adrenaline, the woman jumped off of her bike and rushed to grab the kitten.After dodging cars, she ran to hand the sweet little cat to another woman who was passing by on a nearby sidewalk. You will be blown away by this woman’s fearless efforts, she’s officially a local hero!

It isn’t clear where exactly the kitten came from, but the woman who posted the video suspects she fell out of the red car that can be seen passing by. Look closely at the video and maybe you’ll see the little orange spec suddenly appear amongst traffic. The woman is trying to contact the red car’s driver, but chose to temporarily adopt the kitten and even nicknamed him “Skidmark”.
9. Odd Best Friends

Having a friend who mooches off you twice a day is usually annoying, but old lady Mette Kvam doesn’t seem to mind. Kvam lives alone in Aurland, Norway, and her friend is a wild deer named “Flippen.” Her husband passed away and she had no children of her own so Flippen was all she could count on. He showed up at her doorstep twice a day looking for some grub and seems to enjoy his bread so much!

Typically, wildlife experts advise people not to feed wild deer. Some human foods, like corn, can be disastrous for deer, with the wrong foods leading to serious disease and even death. It can also lead to them becoming dependent on humans for food. However, in this case, the friendship appears to have paid off for Flippen. Local hunters who are aware of the friendship have made a point not to shoot the stag.
8. Fawn Finds Home

Knowing that there were bears and other predators lurking outside the fence surrounding his property, Darius knew they’d find the weak animal, so he took her in and nursed her back to health. Along the way, the fawn became completely attached to her rescuer and one of his dogs. The video then shows how the baby deer gets to know his dogs and cats and slowly becomes a part of his family. He even made the fawn a brace from an oatmeal box and taught it how to drink from a bottle. While we love seeing the fawn nuzzle her rescuer, our favorite part of this story is Darius’ determination to return the baby to her mother in the wild. “I do not support wild animals as pets, but this was a special situation,” Darius writes in the caption of the viral video.

Ultimately, the fawn made a full recovery and Darius realized it was time to say goodbye. The video closes with Darius taking his fawn friend to an open field, in hopes that a doe would take her in. But letting her go turned out to be harder than he expected when the fawn wouldn’t leave his side. Instead of running off, the fawn started planting little kisses on his cheek and continually scurried after him when he moved. The heartwarming video concludes with news that the doe and her two fawns joined up again. Darius says that the mother deer eventually took her baby back in.
