  1. Keep note that the southern coast of Java is rising, as opposed to the sinking north. It's proven though not widely publicized… since well, it doesn't go along with the human climate change catastrophe.

  2. Poor irrigation system, poor infrastructure planning and Poor , chaotic industrialisation progression and management , selfishness !. Look at Singapore 🇸🇬 and learn !.

  3. Sinking ?? No way, now Jakarta free flooding yet, expansion on shore sides going ahead massively ..contradict to those teories.

Moving to eastkal, a big mistake , let us see.

  4. because God loved the world so much that he gave his only son Jesus Christ for all mankind so that any man who believes in Jesus Christ may inherit eternal life through him if we confess our sins Jesus Christ is faithful and just to forgive us and only through Jesus can we inherit eternal life

  5. Indonesia needs gas and oil from Russia too once full industrialisation starts just like Germany. Germany's heavy industries will be done without cheap gas and oil from Russia in
abandance. The EU is now done they just dont want to admit it when their sanctions against Russia boomeranged, thanks to the US.

  6. Why there's so many foreigners barking around thinking that they know everything about Jakarta more than Indonesians themselves?? Also, the latest constitution also stated had the captiol move to Nusantara, Jakarta would retain its position as financial center. So Nusantara already set to be like Washington DC or Canberra while Jakarta would be like Sydney or New York.

Last but not least, the place that were used for the new capitol city is a former quarry, so the rainforest would remain intact. Please stop barks around if your own country did not have enough trees for making it looks green enough.

  7. Brasil did something similar in 1960 for different reasons… with mixed success. Hopefully they'll study that situation carefully to learn from the successes and failures and plan accordingly. Brasilia has always seemed like a bit of a boondoggle to me. But it is Brasil's third largest city now… so apparently you CAN bend and control the natural population trends and patterns if you are able and willing to throw enough money at it. Perhaps it might be better to DE-centralize Indonesia's government as part of this move–instead of further centralizing it.

  8. DEAR INDONESIAN PRESIDENCY', IF ??? VLADIMIR PUTIN', HAS DELIBERATELY. 'MESSED UP THE TRADE LINKS TO FOOD ACCESS TO COERCE AND BULLY 'AFRICAN NATIONS', TO OBEY HIM THROUGH STARVATION DURESS : THEN PUTIN HAS CONTRAVENED THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE FORUM LAWS WHICH I BELIEVE 'INDONESIA', HAS A REALLY IMPORTANT AUTHORITY WITH. PUTIN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED INTO ANY GLOBAL CONFERENCE WITH INDONESIA
UNLESS HE RELEASES THE TRADE ROUTES AND FOOD SUPPLY FOR AFRICANS AND THE REST OF THE WORLD.
@ PUTINS THEFT OF GOLD FROM THE SUDAN SHOULD ALSO BE A QUESTION FOR ANY FUTURE SUMMITS .

  9. It's not actually new, really. Our first president have already laid out an idea to move the capital to the heart of Borneo back in the 60s, but the turmoils of the era meant that the plan got scrapped and never been revisited… until few years earlier from now.

  10. Ir's obvious: this is going to be yet another diabolical Indonesian fiasco. As well as all the social, environmental and financial issues mentioned in this report, it is also a massive power grab rhat shifts power to a technocratic elite that can hide away in their 'green capital' and make the most undemocratic decisions safely away from protests. And what of Jakarta? Left to sink and rot, no doubt.

  11. Sounds like next 70 years it will still be a topic of discussion…
    BUT
i wish the best for Indonesia, it should be the best of modern city design.
There is A LOT OF TECHNOLOGY and know how across the world for a great city design.

  12. This German Media Trash talking about new Capital while missing the point,

NO, Indonesia is not moving capital because of Jakarta is Sinking.

DW make it as if its the reason.. Germany is salty about Indonesia ban on Nickle export, also asking Indonesian some coal.

  13. Doesn't have that area a big problem with lack of sand for constructions including a sand mafia? Do those new buildings therefor use new building methods which would avoid sand as building material? Plans always look great, but when put to the test of reality as mentioned here in many ways things will go wrong quickly and afterwards noone wants to take responsibility of the failings, but just capitalise of a mega project like this.

  14. Instead of giving up on Jakarta they could have gone for venice like city planning.
Also that the water is muddy and merky has nothing to do with the city sinking, but how waste is being treated or rather isn't.
So keeping that last point in mind, building a new city with good infrastructure, might not be a bad thing aslong at some point they can guarantee that the old city would not contribute to more pollution anylonger.

If i may add a rather paranoid view to all of this, having a government city with less inhabitants does give the politicians surely peace of mind that these 10 million citizens would not form a mob one day to walk all over these shiny new government buildings.

  15. this is bad for world… borneo forest is virgin in this world… indonesia is taking away this virgin forest to building his new capital city… where the capital there are the new gold land…. it basic… new open capital is new gold land… when forest in borneo is no more… world will become more polution
