  1. I’ve no doubt that Huw Edwards is good at his job however,he seems to be monopolising the world of tv,radio etc.
Surely it’s time that he let much younger people have a chance to learn the trade
He must be worth a fortune now so why not step aside and hang up his microphone.

  2. Pathetic. It only needed fifteen minutes and then move on … because let's not kid ourselves, there's far more pressing matters at hand, and the deaths of many more elderly, and young fit, people this winter will eclipse this nonsense.

  3. I will never forget was in a restaurant in Cromer overlooking pier just got wifi and looked on news app as 2 and half hours of so before was in Costa in Cromer and saw the Royals rushing over on news. Wifi was quite bad was waiting for meal sat by window looking at the pier. Was not a huge shock.

  4. As I remember it, we had been seeing a split screen with the entrance to Balmoral on the left and Buckingham Palace in the right. Commentary had stopped. Then it went just to the view of Buckingham Palace and zoomed in, showing what appeared to be the flag at half mast. It struck me as odd that that should be done when the Queen was just unwell, after all there was no commentary at that point. Then Huw made the 'a few moments ago' statement, and I found it a shock. I guess the quiet bit before was to enable him to change his tie. Did he change his suit/jacket too? Must have been done ever so quickly. Well done.

  5. This small video clip was PRE-RECORDED and just edited in when she passed away… Just to make sure the announcement went 100% As it should. Which is fair enough I suppose.. Just imagine if it was a LIVE broadcast and he accidentally farted and do not say it could not have happened. The BBC pre-recorded this small section of video just to make sure it all went perfectly.

    I can't say I blame them

  6. One of the major changes since Her Majesty came to the throne all those years ago: It's so commendable that the BBC is no longer dominated by the nasal tones of the "BBC English" set, and that the people of Britain now hear the news presented by people born all over the Kingdom who sound like them, not just a bunch of Etonians. Huw Edwards' beautiful sonorous Welsh voice is so lovely and comforting to listen to, especially at a time like this.
