Woman Asks Shelter For Oldest, Most Overlooked Dog. Shelter Workers Left Lost For Words.
This doesn’t happen every day, in fact, it’s almost unheard of. A woman looking for a dog at a shelter opted for an entirely different approach to all the regular adopters.
And on July 24th, all the staff at Asheville Humane Society Adoption Center would shed tears of joy when Leslie Sacks came along.
Leslie had an unusual request. She would ask the shelter to see the oldest dog they had — even if it had medical conditions.
She was adamant that she wanted the dog that had been passed over for adoption time and time again, for any and all reasons. But what did Leslie do that was so unprecedented?

I have said that I would do this if I got another dog. When I was younger I went to the local animal shelter and walked past dogs without choosing them for selfish reasons. I've had many dogs since and have been exposed to dogs being put down for no fault of their own, abandoned dogs, abused dogs etc.
I would walk into a shelter and ask for the dog that needs me the most. They know the One and that will be my furever dog
I have house full of these from 8 pound to a 120 pound dog and they all get along because they are now family to each other. I have a total of 8 furry loving 4 paws

The only time you should put down a animal is either if they're trying to kill you or if they are in great pain.
Thank you Leslie for such a giving heart & for understanding that all of God's creatures deserve our love & protection. As for the shelter & all it's staff & board members, I salute you for having the empathy needed & sacrificing at times do much to ensure our furry friends eventually find a compatible loving forever family. I'm financially limited & wished I could send the needed donations needed to run such a temporary home for these furry friends but I don't have the means. But what I do have in abundance of faith & sincere gratitude & love for all of God's creations. So what I send is my prayers & may God open the doors of heaven's descending an abundance of help in all the needed aspects. May you all be blessed & always sustained to continue such a selfless act of love toward these furry friends & may they all find a compatible forever home & family that they deserve.
