  4. Yes I am in agreement with the "Hidden Gospel", in my studies I have seen much of these teachings unfold in the Aramaic as well, so they are in concert with the writings of the Gospel of Thomas. I am currently working on my dissertation that covers the subjects of Repentance, Salvation, The New Birth and the Kingdom of God in which I compare the traditional theology with mystical and Aramaic interpretations. I hope to have it completed within the next month or two. Thank you for sharing your teachings and experiences.

  5. And as ACIM is my chosen signpost to the ineffable, I include what I see as this complementary quote from Workbook Lesson 189.

    Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.

    Is it not He Who knows the way to you? You need not know the way to Him. Your part is simply to allow all obstacles that you have interposed between the Son and God the Father to be quietly removed forever. God will do His part in joyful and immediate response. Ask and receive. But do not make demands, nor point the road to God by which He should appear to you. The way to reach Him is merely to let Him be. For in that way is your reality proclaimed as well. And so today we do not choose the way in which we go to Him. But we do choose to let Him come. And with this choice we rest. And in our quiet hearts and open minds, His Love will blaze its pathway of itself. What has not been denied is surely there, if it be true and can be surely reached. God knows His Son, and knows the way to him. He does not need His Son to show Him how to find His way. Through every opened door His Love shines outward from its home within, and lightens up the world in innocence. Father, we do not know the way to You. But we have called, and You have answered us. We will not interfere. Salvation’s ways are not our own, for they belong to You. And it is unto You we look for them. Our hands are open to receive Your gifts. We have no thoughts we think apart from You, and cherish no beliefs of what we are, or Who created us. Yours is the way that we would find and follow. And we ask but that Your Will, which is our own as well, be done in us and in the world, that it become a part of Heaven now. Amen.

    (21b) Therefore I say, if the owner of a house knows that the thief is coming, he will be on his guard before he comes and will not let him dig into his house of his domain (Kingdom) to carry away his things. You, then, be on your guard against the world. Gird your loins with great strength lest the robbers find a way to come to you, for the insufficiency which you anticipate, they will find.

    In 21b, “Mary,” presumably Mary Magdalene, is no longer the person addressed, as she was in 21a. The plural pronoun “you” has taken her place, as it has in the concluding remarks. I see no problem here. The speaker simply turns to his wider audience for effect. In this second saying, the “owner” is a sympathetic character. He is no longer the personification of fear and guilt, but just a man. He is the owner of a “house.” Again, this code word in Thomas nearly always refers to a structure of convictions essential for the comprehension of reality or, conversely, a structure of beliefs that prevents that comprehension. This can be observed by comparing how the word works in other sayings (16, 35, 48, 71, 97, and 98). The phrase used in this saying, “house of his domain,” further narrows its meaning. There is no logical reason why this extra word “domain” should be added to the word “house” unless it has a special significance. It would seem superfluous. In fact, it is the same word commonly translated elsewhere in Thomas as “Kingdom.” The implied phrase, “house of his Kingdom” suggests that there is a thought structure (house) required to welcome and give shelter to the Kingdom of the Father. It is this “house” that must be secured. This is what the “thief” is threatening to carry away. Metaphorically, Jesus is saying that a preventive measure is needed to safeguard the truth of the Kingdom. That measure is the comprehension of the non-dualistic nature of the Kingdom. This understanding must be fully accepted and secured so that the “robbers” cannot take it away. Jesus then equates the “robbers” with the “world”: “You, then, be on guard against the world.” The world here represents the projections of the ego-mind. (See my introduction and saying 89 for this use of the word “projection.”) The “robbers” represent the beliefs of the ego and have the same function here as the “owners” do in the first saying. He says, “Arm yourselves with great strength lest the robbers find a way to come to you.” In a similar saying (103), Jesus says essentially the same thing, again urging the “man” to muster his “domain,” which is the Kingdom, and allow this Kingdom to be his sole defense. Once more, the first saying (21a) informs the second (21b), suggesting a new definition for “bind up your loins.” In the Kingdom, what is of value is defended by defenselessness. One defends best by abandoning all support of fear and guilt. Consequently, with nothing to struggle against, the ego-mind recognizes that it has no purpose for existing and quietly relinquishes its hold on the mind. The next line says, “for the insufficiency which you anticipate, they will find.” This phrase has been translated many different ways. The key word, “insufficiency,” is translated from chreia, a Greek loanword which is the nominal form of the word for “need” or “lack.” This additional line does not negate the saying as a whole but adds a twist to it. It seems to be saying that one should not only defend the truth against error, but one should do so fully and wholeheartedly. Anticipating or fearing the insufficiency of these defenses is an integral part of the error itself. The message seems to be that one must trust completely in the sufficiency of the Kingdom. Otherwise, the robbers will “find a way to come to you”; that is, the ego will discover one’s doubts and exploit them. Metaphorically, one must shed one’s clothes of defensiveness and stand wholly naked before God. Complete trust in the Kingdom is all the armor one needs. This is how the Kingdom is defended.

  7. Jesus has given me strength, to keep going, even though I want to give up. I have two beautiful boys both are autistic. My husband passed away years ago. I’m all alone. I lost my job over declining the vaccine. LIKE MANY OTHERS! I declined due to my pre existing health conditions lupus and heart disease. I’ve been struggling to provide for myself and my children since losing my job as a social worker from Forsyth hospital. I’m now waitressing, and I’m thankful, but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. Every month is a battle to not end up on the streets with my two children. I’m constantly in fear of losing my home. To even think about being on the streets with two young children is terrifying. But even as I face homelessness seemingly every month. I have faith, God will provide. With GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! Faith over fear.
