8. SA national anthem will always be my favorite. It made me cry when I first heard it, and I feel it in my soul every time. My parents also grew up singing ‘nkosi sikelel’ iAfrica’ in boarding school in Nigeria when they were young, as did other ‘boomers’ across Africa that time so I’ve heard. It speaks sp beautifully to us all. Shout out to SA

11. South Africa was fucked by the fast change in system. It’s worse now than 60 years ago. I asked my grandmother about this, she told me it’s sad that she was segregated but at least she didn’t get robbed, raped, stabbed or shot. Sure the segregation and unbalance power should’ve been changed, but with more afterthought and intelligence.

20. We actually use both English and French in many standard Canadian anthems (you have a choice between all English, all French or mixed) and for some reason, the national anthem here has an entirely different meaning depending on which language you pick.

Strangely enough, I’m Ugandan 🇺🇬 and in my high school( Kings College Buddo, one of the oldest) I was in a House/ dormitory called South Africa and we used to sing the actual South African national anthem as our anthem so you’ll find us singing along to the SA anthem during rugby games which is a bit cool and strange for others 😎😎

35. I think people are ashame to say what country they're from in Africa because most countries in Africa are small. Nigeria is one of the biggest countries in Africa the rest are small. Stop saying I'm from Africa have pride and name your country
