  2. Nice, thanks for this fun form of education people about ecology. I was taught the other day that phosphorus can be in the atmosphere…because in anaerobic soil conditions, it can turn into phosphine gas. In fact, it can be seen at night rising from the ground in a yellow-green mists…for example from decaying bodies in a graveyard (pre-modern burial methods). Is this true? Was I misinformed?

  3. Just to remind people that organic nitrogen is very abundant in the soil and can be taken up by plant roots (without the need of symbiotic associations) in the form of peptides.
