Thin Fishing Line Cuts Deep Into Seal's Skin

Thin Fishing Line Cuts Deep Into Seal's Skin
Spread The Viralist

With world class spotting scopes and excellent binoculars, and years of seal rescue experience, the OCN rescuers find themselves more and more in the position to attempt impossible rescues like this one. The identified animal is very far away, close to the water, and protected by many other identical looking seals and bright sunshine. Once the rescuers and the seals start running, it is almost impossible to keep track of the target. Luck is on their side today, and Antoine somehow finds the injured animal in the crowd, and he captures it with the net. They are just on time, the seal has a very deep cut around its neck, caused by a thin piece of fishing line. Those few grams of plastic would have taken the seal’s life very soon.

  2. Who is the fastest sprinter among you?
For Christmas my son gave me and his sisters a wonderful cutting tool that might work well for you. It is a scissor called Crescent WISS, is no larger than kitchen scissors, but has a strong hand grip for a man’s hand and four inch blades that would cut spools like the green ones easily.

  4. Oh no, I feel so bad when their wounds get infected. Hope the salt water helps. Great job as always OCN Team 🙏🦭❤️

  5. Awesome job guys!!!! I understand accidents happen or a line snaps here and there but the amount of seals and other wildlife that gets tangled in this crap is ridiculous!! It goes beyond accidents and a fish snapping the line to utter sloppiness and laziness on the fishermen's!!! Pure carelessness..
So thank for the OCN CREW💜💜💜

  6. Heal fast puppy, you've got a lot of growing to do yet. Denzil love your tattoo. Another save by the one & only OCN expert team! Lots love from Canada 💕

  7. Thankfully, the team clearly got to the poor critter in time, as he still seemed to have plenty of energy, hopping quickly into the surf. I don't even want to imagine the pain he was in. But now he can recover and have a happy life! Thanks, team! 🙂

  8. I'm lost for words, you guys are so wonderful, thank you so much for helping all these seals, this one must be so relieved to have that nasty line removed!

  12. I am never cease to be amazed how good you are are spotting a seal in need. That poor guy had such a nasty cut, you'd think that it had been caused by a cheese wire! Thanks as always.

  13. I like when they pretend to be really mad and grumpy when you release them! They have to keep up appearances! They are lucky lucky seals! Thanks for your continuing work!
