Among Us is a multiplayer game, supporting four to ten players. One to three of these players are randomly selected each game to be Impostors, while the rest are Crewmates. The game can take place on one of three maps: a spaceship (The Skeld), a headquarters building (Mira HQ), or a planet base (Polus).] Crewmates are given tasks to complete around the map in the form of minigames, consisting of maintenance work on vital systems, such as electrical rewiring and fueling engines. Impostors are given a fake list of tasks in order to blend in with Crewmates, and they have the ability to sabotage the map’s systems, traverse vents, identify any other Impostors, and kill Crewmates. If a player dies, they become a ghost; ghosts can pass through walls, but can only interact with the world in limited ways and are invisible to everyone except other ghosts. All players, aside from ghosts, have a limited cone of vision, only allowing them to see other players within a certain unblocked distance around them, despite the game’s top-down perspective.
Among us vs fall guys is a very large debate people have often, did among us kill fall guys or did fall guys kill themselves while among us rose?

Among Us was inspired by the real-life party game Mafia (also known as Werewolf in some areas), and was initially intended to be a mobile-only local multiplayer game with a single map. It was released in June 2018 to Android and iOS, under the AppID of “spacemafia”. Shortly after release, Among Us had an average player count of 30 to 50 players simultaneously. Programmer Forest Willard deemed that “it didn’t release super well” which designer Marcus Bromander believed was because studio InnerSloth “[is] really bad at marketing”. The team intended to “[give] up on it several times”, but continued work on it due to a “small but vocal player base”, first adding in online multiplayer, new tasks, customization options, and later on November 16, 2018 it released on Steam. Cross-platform play support was available upon release of the PC version.

On August 8, 2019, InnerSloth announced a second map, Mira HQ. A third map named Polus was added later that year on November 12, 2019. Both maps initially required an additional payment of US$4, however their prices were reduced to $2 on January 6, 2020, and then later made free on June 11, 2020; while the map packs are still available for purchase on all platforms, they no longer provide access to the maps, instead only giving the player the skins that were bundled with the maps.

According to Willard, the team “stuck with [the game] a lot longer than we probably should have from a pure business standpoint”, putting out regular updates to the game as often as once per week. This led to a steady increase in players, “snowball[ing]” the game’s playerbase. Bromander stated their ability to do this was due to them having enough savings, allowing them to keep working on the game even while it was not selling particularly well.

Among us seems like its more or less infamous nowadays. Among us is still cool but definetely has lost quite a bit of traction if I’m being honest. Among us in real life ?!?!?!?!? Among us 3 AM HAPPY MEAL ?!?!?!?!?

  1. honestly tried to play among us again but the servers and the game got worse. that's why, in my opinion

  2. I feel like the main downfall of the game is it got boring and there wasn’t much to do you’d do like the same thing over and over although it’s fun to play among us every once in a while

  3. Videos like this are moronic when used to refer to blatantly successful games. It’s like making a video saying “Connect 4 died” despite still being wildly popular. People will follow any trend for views and viewers are idiotic enough to eat up every word.

  4. I dont think the game is nessesary dead, it used to be way more popular then it is now but still its pretty fun and deserves a bit more credit, and no it isent dead just not as big as it was

  5. One more thing is that dumbass people leave servers if they are crewmates :/ if you’re impostor, game ends and you don’t even get all the fun and if you’re crewmate, the game suddenly ends and you lose without even moving. So match ends as it starts 😔

  6. I used to be a big fan of this game when it was popular back in 2020, me and my friends used to play it all the time while using voice chat and it was rather fun.

But as time went on, i started to get bored of it and i stopped playing with friends and i kind of just stopped playing it, players in the game nowadays would just say fowl language or just hack the game.

The game kind of died down, but the only thing that is keeping it relevant is the memes.

  7. It died because the internet thought it was good for a year or two and then they dropped it after seeing the next thing that got popular. Take this comment with a grain of salt though because I never played this game and I promised myself I never will because I hate the entire community made around the game and the stupid jokes made from it.

  8. I do know something that could theoretically save the game. Innersloth needs someone with more video game experience. If they were bought by someone like Nintendo, Microsoft, or even Sony, they might be revived.

  9. This is such a dumb video over explaining everything that could be said in 30 seconds. Among us didn’t “fail”, it’s still thriving. It’s the same with a board game: it’s a fun board game but you will play it a few times and then play it once every period because you will get sick of it if you play it constantly. No update or something would’ve fixed that.

  10. i feel like he didn't really go deep into the fact how much adding quick chat ruined the game and the ability to not get a name by yourself , i just hope intersloth brings back the typing option then i will definitely play the game again

  11. When Innersloth released some updates, almost no one in Egypt was able to play the game. I’m from Egypt, and we weren’t able to play Among Us for a few months because every time we tried to join a server, it would disconnect us.

When the roles update came out, we were happy but still couldn’t play the game. Finally, for a few days or weeks, the game was playable again. Now it is unplayable. It’s like every time they release an update, we can’t play the game for a few months.

  12. its still a success yknow. stream crazes obviously inevietably stop being played, but it still has thousands of concurrent players which is way more than other titles get
