Exactly – we can choose. We can decide if we want to dwell on sad experiences or enjoy the moment of that we have right now. Decide to be happy.
Of course it’s not as simple as that, but you’ll be amazed if you just try it.
I read about choosing your own emotions when I was a teenager and it really changed the way I personally reacted to events that happened in my life.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good rant or choosing to be moody and eat ice cream while watching a romance movie on television, but I’ve learnt to listen to the “self talk” inside my head and to say – ok, that’s enough of that stop beating yourself up – or whatever the case may be.
I’ll stop waffling on but –
Try it, and don’t give up to soon. At the very least you might become more aware of your own thoughts and be able to stop your own self shame or negativity …whatever, everyone is an individual.
10/10 would highly recommend. Just look at dogs, they have it worked out.

I had a mixed Galgo/Shepherd I adopted when I lived in Spain, and Nanda's temperament reminded me so much of him. He was a loving couch potato who had bursts of puppy behavior right up until he was nearly 15 and too old to run. I miss that good boy.
My god that beautiful dog was so friendly. I need to get one. She was even politely eating her food. Puts a smile on your face.😁
