The Saudi Civil Defense said it was providing assistance to affected areas of the city and areas of the Mecca region, including rescuing motorists in vehicles caught in flood waters.
Additional weather warnings were issued for several regions in Saudi Arabia from April 28 to May 2, 2022, according to Civil Defense.
