Spread The Viralist

Welcome to my disaster channel. A very severe flood affected the African continent on April 11, 2022. Happy viewing.
Flooding in Durban, South Africa was caused by heavy rains that did not subside for more than 10 days.
It happened in the coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal, where many people still have not moved away from the elements.
Some in the city of Durban stand on rooftops waiting for help, but local media reports that only one helicopter is available to evacuate people.
The main roads of the city are blocked, and landslides have destroyed many houses.
More rain is expected in southern KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, according to the South African Weather Service, which advises citizens to stay away from flooded roads and bridges.
Major highways connecting South Africa’s largest port to the commercial hub of Johannesburg and its east coast have been closed due to severe flooding.
Bridges on the N2, the main highway along the Indian Ocean National Coast, were washed away, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
Local media reports showed videos and images of shipping containers marked AP Moller-Maersk A/S drifting through the water.
Severe weather conditions are expected to continue today” in the areas around the municipality of Etekwini, which includes the city of Durban.
This year, South Africa is experiencing the La Niña weather phenomenon, which usually causes excess rainfall in the country and its neighbors.
January saw the heaviest rainfall in many parts of the country since area tracking began in 1921.
Transnet S.O.C Ltd. , the Durban Port Authority, declined to comment and said it would make a statement later on Tuesday.
Rescue teams have deployed throughout the city and its outskirts, rescuing people stranded on rooftops and trapped under tons of sand and rubble after houses were washed away.
Disaster response teams have already responded to a number of incidents, including the collapse of a wall in Etekwini.
Inclement weather over the weekend has increased the risk of localized flooding across the province as heavy rains continue.
The latest Level 5 weather alert from the South African Meteorological Service indicates that heavy rainfall will continue tonight in major parts of the province, especially in the eastern parts.
Residents living in low-lying areas are urged to seek shelter in higher ground as heavy heavy rains are expected to cause even more localized flooding.

The channel lists natural disasters such as:

  1. Its serious flooding, worst we have had but africas not going under water, like you say it is in your headline, and dont be an asshole and say happy viewing to the tragedies.

  2. If this would have happened in Mauritius, the media and the opposition political parties would have blamed the ruling party for incompetence and not taking appropriate action to prevent such disasters . Government would have been held responsible for inaction by the demagogues who want to score political points.

  3. U Americans make out we are super under privileged, we only have 1 helicopter available hahahaha. We also share 1 loaf of bread between families and our transport is horse and carriage

  7. Beautiful port city of South Africa. No catastrophe during pre-apartheid of Pieter W. Botha. Now a black leader succeeding another black leader, the situation is deteriorating slowly. Unemployment is widespread because white Dutch settlers are pulling out of their investment. The world has no mercy of their plights
