  1. Honestly, we don't deserve dogs. Even though I love puppies I don't want to see puppies being born into this shit-loaded planet. One unspayed stray female dog can lead to hundreds of puppies born in the street. People if you love dogs then please spay and neuter them.

  2. My teen son was driving down a very busy road in our town. He saw what looked like a golden doodle running into traffic. He said no one was doing anything but honking. He pulled over and coaxed the little guy into his car to safety. The poor baby was shaking and scared to death. He wore a collar and tag with a phone number and address. My son called the phone number but no one answered, so he drove to the address on the collar tag. When the owner came to the door my son explained to him what happened and asked him the dog’s name (which was engraved on the little tag) to make sure he was the owner, and that he had called but no one answered so he assumed that he (owner) was frantically out looking for the dog. Nope. The guy didn’t even know he was gone, and didn’t seem to care he was back home. Then a few weeks later my son calls me in tears asking me to help him bc someone had dumped baby kittens in our neighborhood. He had literally stopped traffic. We were able to get all 3 of them and took care of them a couple of nights until our shelter was able to take them. Thankfully, they were all adopted. We couldn’t keep any of them bc my hubby and other son are allergic. I just don’t understand how people can treat animals like this.

  3. Thank you so much for speaking up! We just moved to Bakersfield a few years ago and beyond astonished how many missing & lost dogs alert come up on our Neighbors app alert daily and those are just the ones reported within a few miles! Just too heartbreaking and I don't understand. We need some government interventions to educate people and fund to run more spay/neuter promotions here. Also education on animal cruelty. I see too many trucks carrying dogs on the bed of their trucks in the middle of summer!!! It gets so scorching HOT here and to load their dogs on those metal truck beds?? And why some people keeping their dogs in their yard 365 days of the year with this climate?? HOT in summer, COLD in winter in the desert climate. I feel for fellow animal loving people here, so depressing… Thank you for being the voice of animals and the fellow animal lovers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  4. If not you then who? Bravo for saying what you said that's exactly the way I feel. I think sometimes when people see a dog walking on the street they think it belongs to someone so they don't approach it. Believe me I've had several arguments with people in regards to how they were bringing up their dogs or cats. If you see something do something. Thank you for all the hard work that you put in like I said if not you then who.

  5. Yes..Exactly what I have been thinking about the huge numbers of neglected stray animals in the US. I am surprised that there seems to be so few regulations, requirements and laws re animal care. Here dogs must be council registered, microchipped. (Cheaper for neutered animals) I picked up a dog a couple of years ago…a young dachshund…took it to my vet..he scanned its microchip…picked up by owner an hour or so later.
No dogs, or cats wandering streets. Puppy farms banned some years ago..limits on breeding…in this state…some others yet to do so…but saw something on TV last week re a need to do likewise in other states. Also some education via primary schools re pet care etc..helps bring about improvements for future generations.
Neutering, registration and microchipping makes a huge difference..laws and consequences will help reduce the misery…for animals and people.
    So so sad! 🥺🐕🐈‍⬛🙏🇦🇺

  6. Danny, were you talking about microchips for stray dogs? Please come to India and have a look at the condition of dogs here…
There is no one for them. Who cares?
I wish people like you and organizations like yours were there in India too…

  7. This is the United States. We think we’re so great, but overall as a society we’re self-centered and care little about others. We view everything as disposable, goods and life, makes no difference. It’s all a problem to complain about but someone else can solve it cause well I’m too busy. Little accountability for most offenders, we will never stop killing innocent unwanted animals cause we’re too lazy and immoral to be responsible in the first place.

  8. Hee seems to be having the time of his life! I am happy you spoke out regarding this issue. I believe in getting a license in order to adopt.

  9. I feel your frustration…. So much so…. The state of California has for decades failed the shelters there… They do nothing to keep the structures up to date, they don't get funding for sh$t, they dont push the importance of spay and neutering. Or microchipping. There is ZERO accountability, but that's the whole of the government in California….. But it's the animals, the domesticated animals, the most vulnerable who suffer the most. There is only 1, in the entire state, state funded shelter that is no kill. Period. They don't kill them for space, it's NKLA or No Kill Los Angeles in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society out of Utah… They proved you could have a state funded shelter that doesn't need to kill for space. But the state has done nothing with that….. California for all its "progressive" crap has the worst animal welfare…. And as the economy and inflation get worse, there will be more animals dumped abandoned abused neglected…. And rescues can only do so much…. I'm sorry Danny and I agree with all you said, and just know even though I don't live there any longer, I still appreciate all you do….. I'd love to give that little guy a home but I'm in Alabama now…..

  10. He is absolutely adorable! And I'm so glad he is safe. Hopefully he'll find a loving home soon. And I'm right there w/you Danny! I have "rescued" several dogs in my life time, and I was lucky because most of them had escaped from home and I found the owners who were all very grateful (two of them became mine xo). But was amazed no one else tried. Also my crazy wild cat that I have now, came into my life because my adorable loving niece who loves animals just like me, heard her crying outside her balcony. She could not take in another cat and asked me if I'd want to bring her into my home (tbh if i'd said no, I;m pretty sure she would of kept her cause she just loves her so much). Well aside from her adorable face that I couldn't resist, I was angry and heartbroken because my darling "Star" was abandoned by her family!!! They chipped her and we got in touch w/them but they didn't want her back!!!!! WTF!!!????? And what made me even angrier is although she is healthy they will not allow her vet to release her medical records to me!!! Seriously???? Again WTF!!! The vet knows they abandoned her and I took her in but I have not rights to her previous medical records??? So insane. Anyways sorry for my own rant here but you got me fired up!!! lol. Anyways thank you and all of you at a Safefurr place for rescuing so many beautiful animals. It's hard to think about how many animals are not as lucky as my Star and little darling Taki!

  11. Hi Danny, I totally understand your frustration. I've had and lost two stray dogs after giving them their best lives. I still carry a leash in the card on the off chance I see a stray dog. I remember one dog I saw loose while walking my own dog. I tied my dog up, caught the loose dog which was wearing a cone, found a phone # on the collar, called the owner who was about 15 min away so sat there with her dog until she arrived. Fortunately, my dog stay calm across the street while the owner returned. Thanks goodness the owner had info on the collar. On the dogs I wasn't able to catch I took their picture and post on our local community blog. It's not a lot, not like your efforts but just know that there are a few of us out here who actually do care. Thanks for your kindness and generosity of spirit in helping those who can't help themselves. Blessings from Orange County

  12. Danny, I want you to know how much I really appreciate your getting it off your chest about lost and abandoned dogs that have waited 'forever' before they receive assistance and how much of a risk it is for them to remain out in the open, even in derelict and dangerous places. You have every right to express your thoughts and feelings. Everything that you've mentioned is so well-founded and I truly concur!

I am deeply troubled by so many passersby that are perfectly capable of keeping lost or abandoned dogs secure and calling for help until they are rescued but have chosen not to do so, mainly out of selfishness and thoughtlessness.

I know this isn't rescue related, but there were times that I got stranded, even on the freeways, when my vehicle stopped working or I had a flat tire. I couldn't call for help due to my profound deafness. I'd wave my arms endlessly while countless drivers passed by. It felt like 'forever' before I received help. Each experience that I had was horrible! So, I can truly empathize how dogs must feel when they wait endlessly before they receive help and attention.

It really pisses me off that far too many individuals would receive new puppies or adopt rescued dogs without taking into careful consideration the responsibility, as well as the long-term commitment, of owning their furry companions. These peeps should have done their 'homework' to determine if they are the right fit to have dogs! No wonder why shelters worldwide are so overwhelmingly full! More and more dogs, even the great ones, would end up being euthanized!

I deeply admire you for your unwavering dedication to the welfare of dogs and your going above and beyond to help when no one seems willing to do so. You are to be commended for all you've done for the ones that you've rescued. Mama, Wednesday and the late Charlie, included! Keep up the great work, Danny, and you've got many of us back you every step of the way!

  13. The people that didn’t do anything was may be a good thing because it led to you. And he will get the best care possible! Everything happens for a reason. Thank you for doing what you do.

  14. It never ends. As I lay here surround by 2 of mine and 2 fosters (1 who will stay with me till the end , no one wanted her so she's s special foster) the other no one seems to want due to seizures. But , I will continue to help these little guys. I will continue to go on midnight runs. To steal dogs when Temps drop. To do home visits. To cry every time someone gets adopted. But, it's all worth it.

  15. Thank you so much. I picked up a stray dog once that I drove by. I could not find owner so I found a new owner. My heart wouldn't allow me to pass by on a very cold and windy day in a dangerous area of high speed traffic. I couldn't pass him by….

  16. Hardly a day passed I don't think of the "balcony" dog. I went to Chicago with my daughter where she had a conference but was over both our birthdays. I agreed to go to celebrate BDs with her. I spent my days pretty much in the room. I saw a dog across the street locked out on the balcony for 14 hours! I called the building"s front desk. Apparently they did call the owner and she lied to them (of course) saying the door was open to the dog, yeah 4" crack! The next day rained all day and night. She put him out in the afternoon and stuck overnight. It was raining the whole time in the low 50s. It gets cold at that tempt for extended time. I called them again but doubted they'd done any more. I had to leave and wonder what'd happen to the poor thing. It's up on the 20th floor so doubted anyone would see the suffering!!! Why would anyone have a dog or cat if they don't care to interact with them.

  17. I'm one of the people who stop and try to do something about a stray animal, or a wild one for that matter. People who dump animals have no excuse when they can take them to a shelter. Thank you Danny for what you do!!

  18. For some reason, a lot of men are very much opposed to spay/neuter. Especially neutering their animals. They clutch their crotch and say "no way". I don't understand this at all. And health and overpopulation arguments never sway them. And I have no idea how to go about changing this,

  19. Thank You for what you do,you are So Amazing.I Love the videos because that means Your Saving Another Fur Baby Thank You Again for what you do 💕

  20. Selfish uncaring people,.humanity.
    🤬
They are the ones who should be euthanized!
These innocent animals are more worthy and deserving of life than these kind of people!!

  21. I believe you earned the right to be ducking angry, thank you for all the patience you show getting the trust of dogs 💞
