In today’s episode, we’re exploring a long-abandoned building at a massive asylum somewhere in the South. The hospital opened in the late 1800s as one of the first psychiatric hospitals for African Americans.

  1. I came just for the intro. There was a song playing during Desolation of Smaug that was super familiar but I couldn't remember what it reminded me of. It's Proper People.

  2. The Beneath the Planet of the Apes quote, the name at the bottom of that lines up with the name of a man who spent two years in a mental hospital ending in 1980 (he's been serving multiple life sentences since 1990 for rape). Crazy that it's still hanging there 42 years later.

  3. its so sad there are so many people homeless and such and yet there are 100s of abandoned buildings that they could live it ๐Ÿ™
edit: there are also so many hospitals at capacity and yet again abandoned hospitals is a common thing

  4. At 25:22 of this video, even though you said that you were on the final floor of that particular building, I couldn't help but notice that, up in the ceiling, there was a hole that seemed to show yet another floor to this building…. or at least an attic space. Was there no other access stairs, or ladder to this space above you? Would have been interesting to see what was up there too, as there always seems to be something hiding up in those spaces, nestled away secretively in the shadows, so to speak?! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

  5. Not to dampen the mood, but yall are most likely breathing asbestos in these types of dilapidated buildings. That stuff was used everywhere back then.

  6. It would be cool to do a night investigation with full spectrum cameras, EMF meters and recorders for EVP to see if you get anything. A place like that has to have some residual energy.
