Rescue centres in the UK are confined in small kennels and staff will not allow their shelter dogs to be re-homed in a home where there is another dog, even if that existing resident dog is gentle, loves other dogs, is relaxed and happy. As soon as you mention you have another dog they immediately cut you off as unsuitable to adopt. The Dogs Trust is guilty of this big time! Shocking when you consider all these Taxis dogs are happily living together in freedom and socialising. UK rescue centres have a lot to learn from this wonderful man!

18. I agree with you which is why I found a permanent home for the family dog instead of my parents taking the dog to a shelter. It would have caused the dog to experience anxiety and depression. Instead, he ended up in a wonderful home with people who adore him.

23. the ideal is finding a home and family for a dog but Takis definition of dog shelter is far superior to any other type I've ever seen.. He's really on to something here. I know the staff of conventional city animal shelters mean well but they should be really looking changing to match something like Takis model. He's not just treating the dogs for sickness but giving them space, friends and a permanent home if they can't find a home (rather than be put down like most animal shelters when they run out of space). This gives them a reasonable shot of being happy.
