29. This cat was 100% housecat, not feral. And judging by his behavior, loved and cared cat. How he ended up on that road? …most probably his owner past away and relatives or property manager just throw him out. Some kids feed it until they get bored and this would be the end, if not those people who bring him to their home.
    
    Eleven years ago me and dad where packing our fishing gear for winter storage (54th parallel, winters are icy here), when we heard little “miaus” from bushes. I went to look, and to my big surprise discovered little kitten who was desperately calling for somebody (on little island with only one house! Someone just dumped kittens to this little island and this one was the only survivor). From this moment my father had a cat. They lived together as best palls just sleeping, eating and adventuring always together on land and on boat. But then in one autumn day four years ago my father past away. It was clear to me and my wife that my father's companion in the twilight years should live with us. There was not even a question about it. But on the day of the funeral, a distant relative came to me and started talking about seeing the cat in the house. He was genuinely worried about this and was warning me, that such an bad thing had happened and advised me to throw cat out immediately. Like, don’t worry, he will find a place to eat … on an island, with only one house – my father's home! I was so furious that I would beat such a "good-natured helper" on sight, but my wife noticed this and rushed between me and that “well-wisher”. A long story just as an example – there are people who just throw away pets and don't even realize they're doing something wrong.
    P.S. My fathers cat is still with us, happy and loved.
