  1. But some random events happen again. Wouldn't the survivors be better adapted next time? If an Asteroid kills all cold blooded animals but spares the mammals then are the mammals not better adapted for the next Asteroid?

  2. Is it really chance though? Take your sidewalk example. The set of properties as determined by natural selection led some ants to walk on the middle of the sidewalk in the path of scooters and so some of them die. How is this pure random exactly? It seems that you can also call this a consequence of non-random natural selection. You can say the same thing about the squirrels and the forest fire, even the seeds. The seeds due to their composition as determined by natural selection had the properties to be carried by the wind and therefore land on a new island where they could grow, non-random. Where the wind blows in principle can be wholly predicted in we had the ability to do so, technically non-random. The distinction seems arbitrary.

  3. You can tell the person speaking in the video is a woman, because she keeps mentioning things in her explanation that have no relevancy to ensuring one's understanding of the subject. Stay on course – Keep it simple!
