9/11 I was in second grade running through the teachers lounge to get to class faster, saw everything happen on that TV. Got back to my class and my teacher is a mess, as a close family friend had been on one of the planes. She left and the guidance counselor sat in with us until we were all released. It's burned into my memory.

I was only 5 years old on 9/11/2001 and was on Wall Street at my dad's office. When you are that young you think it's an accident but then we saw the second plane hit and my dad grabbed me and we got on the train back to Bedford. My father is a good man and spent millions of his own money trying to help people.

Up to that point most "LIVE" performances being broadcast on TV were prerecorded and lip-synced: the networks wanted it that way so they could time everything down to the second and they know when to cut in and out for commercial breaks or when they can switch cameras… and they didn't want somebody "going off script" where a guitarist might try to slip in a few minutes long guitar solo or the singer ends the song carrying a note for an extra minute or two.
