10. @goodnamesunavailable: I don't know much about violin and the 'proper' ways to play it, but I do know Andrew studied violin at Northwestern University. From what I've read, it was via the Suzuki method, so this may explain the unconventional way in which he plays and performs. May not be 'proper', but he's still brilliant. Or, as the Suzuki method intends, with "character".
