Born with water on her brain, Meenakshi the cow recently passed away after 7 awesome years of giving love and receiving love. ISCOWP members rescued her from a sale barn where no one wanted her. Calves with this affliction live at max two years. Yet, she beat the odds due to her courage and resilience. This video is a tribute to her life.
Water on the brain, Hydrocephalus, affects the brain’s connections with the rest of the body. Our local University Veterinarian Hospital considered it remarkable that she lived seven years and had a good life up until about a month before she passed away. We had to continually watch her weight and feed her separately at times, giving her special nutritional foods. She often acted oddly for a cow and related to humans more than her fellow herd mates. Running and kicking up her heels was a great pleasure of hers and beautiful to watch. We thank all those who adopted her for their love and support for her. We will miss her sweet loving personality very much.
At the ISCOWP cow sanctuary, we practice cow protection, which means the cows under our care will never be slaughtered. We rescue many of our cows and oxen from a situation where they were destined to be slaughtered, like an ox from a dairy farm. We also propose a change in diet to veganism or vegetarianism, basically a plant-based diet. Becoming a vegan lessens the consumption of not only meat but commercial dairy products which lessens the suffering of these often cute animals. We believe in animal rights because we believe animals have souls, emotions as we do. The videos we vlog are to bring people closer to these rescued animals and get a look into their lives. Sometimes they act like funny animals, sometimes like cute animals, and sometimes they show their noble personalities and appear as the holy cow.

Aww dear Menksha(sp) so sorry for your loss, but because of you she had a wonderful life and a transcendental departure. So sweet to see her running and kicking up her heels and baby Balaji! I'm in tears writing this, thank you for all you do . All Glories to the cow protectors! 🙏

She was a beautiful soul. I’m so happy she had seven wonderful years with with the human angels who take such great care of all their cows. Thank you for rescuing her and giving her a chance to live her best life. ❤️

I didn't know about this hydrocephalus disease, but if I understood correctly, it's like a kind of autism in cows, isn't it ? (Tell me if I'm right or if I'm wrong). In any case, I am wholeheartedly with you and I send you my maximum support to fight against this ordeal that is the death of someone we have loved for 7 years. If she has managed to exceed the longevity statistics despite this disease, I am sure it is because of the love she had coming from you, which is why you support you so much. All my condolences for Meenakshi, and even though I know it's a bit hard to say now, still have a Merry Christmas, a good end of the year and good continuation of videos.
