I saw a video about a CME (coronal mass ejection) hitting Earth ~ 12,500 yrs ago. I cannot find that same video now, maybe it got taken down. Anyway, once it hit, people were irradiated and it knocked down the human IQ quite a bit. We, as a species, were quite advanced at one time, according to this source. The CME took care of that, and as a result, civilizations moved underground for a while. Never were we to be as intelligent as prior to the CME. It was said that such an event would leave an image burned into our eyes. An image that's found worldwide, mostly in caves and underground. It's the stick figure that the legs and arms form right angles, and there's a round spot on either side.
Then came the Younger Dryas event, where the earth warmed extremely fast, due to the CME.
It's conceivable, and I'd love to see more about this, but again, cannot find the video.
Something interesting to think about.
Given the current global warming, an ice age won't be much of a problem for humans. But we are quite defenceless against the super volcanoes and cosmic radiation.
