  1. i remember this. hearing about it. sad sad sad, day!!this is is busiest biggest dangerous highway, in the world. how old would that girl of been, 32 yrs old now? sooo sorry to u. dying like that! and the one's who dream of it, while they sleep, and have a trigger, of that DAY!

  2. Oh, I remember this. A couple of my dad's co-workers were involved in this crash. The company truck they were driving is visible at 3:15, in the centre of the highway. It's the big white one stretching across the median. Thankfully both men survived the crash with minor injuries. However, one of my father's co-workers was hospitalized overnight as a precaution as he was diabetic and the doctors wanted to monitor him. They were lucky. Some people died some truly horrific deaths in this crash.

I believe the cause of the accident was written off as as force majeure situation where no one was deemed at fault but the bad weather conditions.

  3. I recognize the red-yellow-blue stripes on the transport truck. That looks like a Challenger truck from Cambridge near where I live. So tragic. ? RIP to all those who didn't make it. God rest their souls.

  4. Very true arm chair quarterbacks now pretend they know what to do! This was disaster no one could have trained or predicted. RIP to all who lost their lives on that day.

  5. An major pileup in Virginia on I-64 brought me here. Thankfully, no major injuries. Unlike this one 20 years ago on Highway 401 near Windsor.

  6. Man, I was 15 when this happened and never heard about this until today. My condolences to all the families of lost ones. Much love from Tx.

  7. Most of you do not seam to be educated.
In this video first second it says a big fog is up. They just rush in. What a idiots haha.
Here in sweden we get fucking snowstorms on 110km/h road. Normal people turn on front and back fog lights and slow down.

  8. "Unaware drivers.." like you can't tell you are in fog. People won't slow down and they tailgate!! They leave no room for mistakes. Stop tailgating…STOP TAILGATING…STOP TAILGATING..slow the hell down

  9. The fact that this was before everyone didn’t really have a cell phone with a screen is crazy, imagine if this would’ve happened today… mostly because people would’ve been on the phone.

  10. It sounds like there were some fatalities but nobody is saying how many. You'd think that's something they'd include in a documentary like this. Anyone know how many people were killed?

  11. Highway 401 IS the "Highway Through Hell" according to the many truck drivers who have to negotiate that road from Detroit NE up to Toronto/Ontario, Canada! It is often snowy, foggy, icy, and very busy, a recipe for disaster! And they certainly see their share of it! And there's even more traffic on it now than there was 20 years ago!
