  1. There’s a reason sailors and powerboaters don’t get along. There’s a basic level of nautical competence required that one team tends to ignore.

  2. I was never more convinced that Half of the Florida residents who own boats absolutely should NOT period after the shear size and scope of stupid mistakes hit me and the damage caused to the water ways because of them ..

  3. You go to the boat dealer and see a bran new boat, the finance manager says hey you look good on that $150,000 boat and for only $900 a month you can be your own captain. Funny thing is you have never driven a boat before but you think how difficult can that be. After all I can park a car…..but your completely clueless. First day out you've made plenty of new friend, everyone wants a copy of your insurance, your wife and kids are terrified to go boating ever again.

  4. Why was that first boat going so fast in the first place. Doesn’t do any good to pull your head out of your ass in the morning if you don’t the shit out of your eyes.

  5. Ah yes, 4th of July, where people blow off their hands with fireworks, burn down their houses with grills, and show off their poor boat handling skills.

  6. Just because some people boat a little differently I don't think you should call them fails. Reimagine the first scene as unmanned boat battle and it is clearly a win. The beer save in the third scene is legendary and definitely a win. The pontoon boat using another boat as a clever dry dock is just genius… note how perfectly aligned it is with the dock, that's skill there.

  7. Boat hooks are such valuable boat tools for push-off, fend-off, hook-onto, extended reach (as when trying to put a loop over a piling), etc. Get a solid metal hook head with blunted tips (hardly anyone has wooden hulls anymore for pointed tips) and with a solid wooden 8-10 foot pole of about 1-1/2 inch diameter. If you have a bigger boat, get at least one boat hook per side. Don’t bother with those flimsy extendable aluminum tube things that turn out to be foldable with a side load. If your concern is greater about creating a scratch in the gel coat than for saving the boat or a life, your priorities are skewed and you need to find some other expensive hobby.
