13. The best way to extract a barbed hook is to wrap smaller line such as leader around the shaft and slide it down the hook into the wound to negate the barb.

14. My father in law took a hook straight through his thumb. Fortunately his cousin was. A Dr. and had numbing medicine at his home. Snipped the barb off and pulled it back through.
