  1. Hooked myself on a treble with a northern pike on the lure aswell, I was lucky that I could poke the barb threw my thumb and cut it off.

  2. Fisherman in general idk are just tough. I wouldn’t say Australian level tough but they definitely have a pretty high pain tolerance.

  3. The best way to extract a barbed hook is to wrap smaller line such as leader around the shaft and slide it down the hook into the wound to negate the barb.

  4. My father in law took a hook straight through his thumb. Fortunately his cousin was. A Dr. and had numbing medicine at his home. Snipped the barb off and pulled it back through.

  5. Me: gets poked by a stick: OW WHAT THE HELL

    Jeremy: Gets his hand practically bitten off by a catfish: Eh, tis but a scratch
