The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Sandton, Johannesburg, has had to cancel at least three fundraising events following the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa that the nation would be under lockdown for 21 days.
The branch has appealed to the public to continue their financial support during this trying time. The organisation usually relies on funds raised at these events to keep its doors open, and the animals alive.
