A Magnificent Animal Mum | Bandita the Stoat | My Painting Story
Spread The Viralist

This short film demonstrates how I was inspired to paint Bandita, an ermine stoat in my garden. Bandita recently featured on TV after being filmed as she raised her litter of kits. In my artwork, I wanted to capture how protective she was as a mother. She would move her kits whenever she sensed danger – making it a challenge to film her. She was also a very playful animal. Watch her romp about with her young, teaching them the skills they will need to survive in adult life. I hope you like the finished artwork. About Me: I am a British wildlife artist based in Thixendale, North Yorkshire. I use nestcams to study animal behaviour so that I can capture the individual characters of my wild subjects in paint. I’ve shared the best of my video research on this channel. I hope you enjoy it! See more too on my website: https://www.robertefuller.com

  1. Wow, your work is absolutely stunning! I can almost feel their fur!! So cute to see them all running around playing too, it must be pretty special living there ?

  2. Weasels and stoats are such misunderstood animals. They get unfairly labeled as villains in stories like Redwall and The Wind in the Willows. Additionally, the word "weasel" is used as an insult. I wish people would appreciate weasels for what they are instead of villainizing them.

  3. Yes!! Hey, i just saw you and your badgers on the One Show and absolutely LOVED seeing them in that amazing sett you made (that's awesome btw) so I had to come and see if you had a channel that showed footage of them, and of course to also to admire your stunning artwork! ? Looking forward to checking out your wildlife vids, especially any of the beautiful badgers and nightlife that we dont often get to see. I live in Pembrokeshire in Wales and have foxes and badgers in my garden but dont really get to see them often (unless they make a noise and I manage to catch them lol) Last year some cheeky badgers dug up my whole garden ?? and I managed to see one of them in action through the window, it was awesome to watch! Looking forward to checking your channel out! Take care! ?

  4. You should definitely be putting out more content like this, it’s great to see your work. I think my favourite picture at your gallery is the rabbit being chased by the stoat, half it’s size. Having said that I have a new favourite each time I visit ??
