THE MIRACLE THAT WAS FELIX
This old man went against all odds to be alive, surviving cruelty, strangulation, a long and deep knife wound that had to be stitched, severe ear infection and head trauma, a broken tailbone, and right front and rear legs totally fractured and protruding from the skin.
He was in that state when he crawled into the reporter’s yard where he was given first aid and fed. He was reported for rescue and took more than a week before he was rescued and brought to a vet in Taguig.
He was emaciated and severely anemic, has heartworm, very high infection and low blood values.
He lived and survived an unbelievable cruelty and abuse. He hurdled the pain, the sickness and trauma. He rose from ashes and near death to live, to love and be loved. It was not an easy road. It was expensive and challenging. He is still being treated for heartworm and regular bandaging and splinting. But he has improved tremendously.
Felix inspires me to go on and strive. That despite weakness, pain and sickness we can prevail. For life, for love…..
