A shelter dog received a celebratory guard of honour after she was finally adopted after 500 days of waiting.
Six-year-old pooch Bonita was filmed leaping with joy and giving kisses to bystanders as she left the Niagara SPCA animal shelter in Niagara Falls, New York, on December 12.
Bonita had arrived at the shelter on August 13, 2018 had no joy finding anyone willing to adopt her, thus becoming one of the oldest guests at the SPCA.
The video of overjoyed Bonita leaving the shelter with new owner, writer Ray Kinz, 39, was uploaded online where it reached over two million views.

They should have put the dog down, the owner can't even control it. Why give one on the most aggressive dog breeds to an irresponsible owner that lets the dog roam free like that. One day it will bite a kid because the owner is reckless.

I am sitting here in hospice in Phoenix waiting for the nurse because I can't keep anything down so disgusted but this video has just made me so grateful for everything I've experienced . I don't plan to die here I truly believe I'm going home and I will defeat this thing .this video just changed all the pain and nausea I've been having and I am so grateful to the people that did this for that great ? dog.
