MAX – Rescued "Pet" Bobcat

MAX - Rescued "Pet" Bobcat
Spread The Viralist

Max the bobcat kitten was at the center of a months-long legal battle that touched off after a Rhode Island vet seized him from someone who bought him from a backyard breeder… It is illegal to have bobcats as pets in Rhode Island. The cat’s owner went to court to get the cat back, but the state won. Now Max will live at Big Cat Rescue for the rest of his life!

We’re so glad we could step in and offer Max a permanent home, if you want to help put an end to the trade in wild animals as so called “pets” please visit this site to help give them a voice: Subscribe to our Website: http://bigcatrescue.org

  1. So, the airport security saw the “danger: wild animal” sign and decided to let the animal out for “safety” reasons. ??‍♀️ Glad I’ve never met airport security this stupid. One time I got dinged for having a “suspicious” keychain. The security guy saw it was only a metal Star Trek insignia keychain and started laughing. Some security are just stupid.

  2. In an episode of Urban Tarzan there was a bobcat that was locked in the trunk of a catalac car. Urban Tarzan and his partner Caveman got the bobcat out of the trunk but it ran into someone's yard. Luckily Urban Tarzan was able to bait the bobcat into the cage with some meat. Now what I'm wondering is, has that individual bobcat ever been taken to Big Cat Rescue?

  3. The cat was "RESCUED" from his owner eh? Wow!!… ? I think the world is full of IQ 70 idiots when the majority BELIEVE that you need a university degree to take care of an animal. The owner was taking the cat in for his shots. He clearly was a responsible person. A domesticated rambunctious animal is still domesticated (born in captivity, not in the wild).

So who TF is to claim they know best for the animal? Perhaps Max misses his owner. Maybe he was better off with the love of his owner and the care he provided. That's like sending your kids to go live with a wealthy, well-educated family. Maybe they will have more amenities, but they won't grow up with the same nourishment and love that they would have with their parents/care-givers.

Time for people to smarten up and use their brains. You don't need to be a genius to construe the nature behind co-dependant living and the benefits from a loving nurturing environment.

I hate these "rescue" stories because it boils down to manipulating a law to pat themselves on the back for saving something that never needed saving in the first place. Go rescue injured animals or wildly vicious animlas.

  4. Just a suggestion should you run into this type of issue again. Instead of passenger airlines look at shipping companies. I worked for one through college and we often transported horses via aircraft. They remove all the seating and stack cargo in the cabin section. For animals you simply allocate a section for them and their support personal. For horses it was usually a vet and a trainer. I have no idea on the cost, but I suspect it would be far easier to go through them than a regular passenger airline.

  5. You didn’t “rescue” anything. You and the government has no authority to tell people what pets they can and cannot own. I’m tired of seeing the lies that bobcats don’t ever make good pets. You, your mission, your company, and anybody taking a similar stance are pathetic.

  6. I have never understood people who want to keep wild critters as pets. They are more beautiful, happier, and healthier in the wild. Good job!

  7. ESE ANIMAL DEBE VIVIR EN LA NATURALEZA Y LLEGADOSAL CASO POR CULPA DE ESA GENTUZA QUE PIENSA QUE PUEDE TENER UN ANIMAL SALVAJE EN CASA, LO ÚNICO QUE CONSIGUEN, ES JODER LA VIDA AL ANIMAL. MENOS MAL QUE ESTA CON VOSOTROS

  8. So the owners wanted to get their cat medical attention, and they got some over zealous law enforcement bullshit instead. Pathetic. Big cats are not for everyone, but they are just that … Large cats. All cats are wild.

  9. You shouldn't keep any wild animal as a pet its just not in them no matter if theyre trained you can take the cat outta the wild but you cant take the wild outta the cat
