Over 12 billion miles from Earth, a gangly ship sails through interstellar space. It is, by far, the most distant object made by human hands. In 1977, NASA launched twin Voyager spacecraft. An emotional, cinematic documentary, The Farthest tells their story through first-hand accounts from the passionate men and women who built the ships and guided their journeys. Negotiating a series of perils on its Grand Tour of the outer planets, Voyager beamed back spectacular images of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. But their moons offered bigger surprises—volcanoes, geysers, and a liquid water ocean. On the chance of discovery by intelligent aliens, each spacecraft carried a Golden Record with music and spoken greetings. The mission has earned its place in the pantheon of human achievements. Long after our sun has flamed out, the Voyagers are likely to be sailing on, perhaps the only evidence that we ever existed.

P.B.S.?VERY GOOD!!! EXCELLENT!!!
Half the documentary is about the "golden disk". Yeah, the show was good, but they could've let the recording part go a bit shorter.
Anyone find the music they used in this doc……pretty inspiring music(not the record) but the background music ???
Wow amazing doc!

From the very beginning I was riveted to the screen. Absolutely amazing and emotional journey. There will never be a satellite program as aggressive and successful as Voyager. My respect to everyone who made this dream a reality.
Any idea on the intro song ??
Anyone know the song at the end of the netflix version?
It's touching, it's uplifting, and sometimes sad… it's an astoundingly epic journey through space in which we search to find meaning, understanding, immortality, and maybe even ourselves…
Fantastic !
absolutely stunning!
I predict, as in Star Trek. Humans will someday catch up to Voyager 1 and 2. A have a party about finding it and remember all these people who sent them out there. good on the geeks of earth!!!!!
Absolutely amazing and centering at the same time. I wonder what we could get done if we all cooperated!
