Try to do maintance next time like clean the Alfa Laval saparators that clean the oil to the main machin. Why destroy a machine bacause run it without oilpressure…switch it of instead as son as you get the lowpressure oil alarm and fix the oilpressure problem then start it up again. Must be something wrong with tis story.
not enough fuel for the helicopter to make it there and back! why don't the make it compulsory that these big cargo ships carry enough helicopter fuel for one fill?…also WHAT HAPPENED TO CAMILLA?????
was ist mit diesem leeren Schiff später geworden?
Major fishing boat – cobblers! MV Camilla was a bulk carrier. Just google it like I did.
Not sure when this happened but open lifeboats aren't used on big cargo ships much anymore. This kind of situation is why.
This ship, the Camilla Desgagnés was rescued by a tug boat and brought to St. John’s, Newfoundland 19 days after the rescue. It arrived at port and the cargo was safely unloaded. The boat is still in service to this day in Russia.
Next time invest in auxiliary engine instead of marlboro
So everyone aboard this ship was heavy smokers….
It would be so funny if the ship, as usual, only carried cheap bs from China that will be sent back the next day…
Looks like the experience seriously aged the third officer.
How can a ship like this be brought to a halt by a damaged oil filter? Surely there should be an emergency bypass or something!? A flow of unfiltered oil is significantly better than no oil at all!
I'd be finding water, food, survival suit, smokes, EPIRB, flares etc etc not just sit and read a book.
The closed captioning names the Captain as Rock Allah.
Camilla didn't sink in the storm…she was towed to port by a salvage tugboat on January 30, 2003. The crew got their cargo of cigarettes back…
Speaking about heroes… ??????????????????????????
The 1st and 2nd officers died of smoke inhalation.
Did the shop sink??
No spare filters or parts but lottsa smokes? Filters take priority over toilet paper.
What about the damn boat?
Where on the earth do we find cyclones….!?
..damaged oil filter? Marine engine of that grade, doesnt have oil pressure gauge and aux/spare filter? I guess someone was busy smoking instead of watching basic stuff such as oil pressure gauge..wtf..
was there a miracle ?
did the CARMILLA make it ?
all the way from beautiful
nassau, bahamas ??
Remember the TITANIC?
here we go again if she sinks all that will be at the bottom of the sea
all the way from beautiful
nassau, bahamas ??
ok me in the bahamas ?? at 5.8am thursday I have not TOUCHED THE WIFE IN 5 DAYS trying. TOOOOOO ?
all the way from beautiful
nassau, bahamas ??
that,s one thing with most of todays huge ships they only have ONE ENGINE over the years a lot of ships one engine broke down from tankers to cruise ships a lot of them sank our ended up on shores all over this world if you lose that one engine and can not get it started again more often than not you have had it
all the way from beautiful
nassau, bahamas ??
Highly training is very important in different situations that’s why never reject it in school
Suppot my chnnnal…subscriber n share..
Then What happen with Camilla?
"Badly damaged oil filter"?
I think you mean a clogged oil filter.
Two fisted smokers. At least switch to Lights.
WHAT happened to the ship?
this story should be about the rescue team
Brave pilot
Canada doesn’t have cyclones lol who wrote this? In Canada it is called a hurricane.
The ship never sank…
11 hours, then it wasn’t sinking!
Ship was salvaged 7 days later still afloat. Still sailing as Camilla Desgagnes fully ice strengthened ro ro operating in Baltic Sea. Not a fishing vessel.
May he should drop the anchor
Legend has it that she is still out there somewhere drifting aimlessly like someone without a soul, without a purpose …
Maybe it's time to have more than just 1 engine for the ship, na makes too much sense
You won't even tell us what happened to the boat!
so did the ship sink ??????
Did the Rescue arrive in time before the crew ran out of smokes on the high seas?
Waw, i was kind of impressed with the mindset of this resque team… They don't walk away when things start to tickle…
yep glad that life is behind me.
