  1. Try to do maintance next time like clean the Alfa Laval saparators that clean the oil to the main machin. Why destroy a machine bacause run it without oilpressure…switch it of instead as son as you get the lowpressure oil alarm and fix the oilpressure problem then start it up again. Must be something wrong with tis story.

  2. not enough fuel for the helicopter to make it there and back! why don't the make it compulsory that these big cargo ships carry enough helicopter fuel for one fill?…also WHAT HAPPENED TO CAMILLA?????

  3. This ship, the Camilla Desgagnés was rescued by a tug boat and brought to St. John’s, Newfoundland 19 days after the rescue. It arrived at port and the cargo was safely unloaded. The boat is still in service to this day in Russia.

  4. How can a ship like this be brought to a halt by a damaged oil filter? Surely there should be an emergency bypass or something!? A flow of unfiltered oil is significantly better than no oil at all!

I'd be finding water, food, survival suit, smokes, EPIRB, flares etc etc not just sit and read a book.

  5. Camilla didn't sink in the storm…she was towed to port by a salvage tugboat on January 30, 2003. The crew got their cargo of cigarettes back…

  6. ..damaged oil filter? Marine engine of that grade, doesnt have oil pressure gauge and aux/spare filter? I guess someone was busy smoking instead of watching basic stuff such as oil pressure gauge..wtf..

  8. that,s one thing with most of todays huge ships they only have ONE ENGINE over the years a lot of ships one engine broke down from tankers to cruise ships a lot of them sank our ended up on shores all over this world if you lose that one engine and can not get it started again more often than not you have had it

    all the way from beautiful
    nassau, bahamas ??

  9. Ship was salvaged 7 days later still afloat. Still sailing as Camilla Desgagnes fully ice strengthened ro ro operating in Baltic Sea. Not a fishing vessel.
