To be frank i think the octopus is already dead, The spines on the sucker's may just have been stuck.. To be frank the eel has the octopus's head in its throat. so eel wins.

Eel definitely won. I do a lot of spearing and sometimes spear Occys for bait (best deep sea bait ever!), the way to do it is spear them between the eyes wait 10 mins then simply pull them out. Octopi loose their energy very quickly and was probably 90% dead at the start of the clip, you can also tell by the pale color which is a sign of stress.
