Terrifying moment of Brazil dam collapse caught on camera

Spread The Viralist

A video aired on Brazilian media shows the exact moment a dam burst in Brazil on 25 January. The dam break at an iron ore mining complex operated by the minerals firm Vale killed at least 65 people. A further 279 are missing. Cars can be seen driving around desperately trying to escape as a dramatic gush of mud approaches. The surge buried buildings adjoining the dam and several parts of the nearby city of Brumadinho

  1. Three subsidences (craters) formed simultaneously at the left, center and right of the dam (see 00:07). This is indicative of an underground explosion at those points, as such craters form because the soil gets vaporized by the underground blast. The ground then collapses into itself, forming the craters.

With structural integrity lost, the mud flowed forward with explosive force.

The saboteurs chose this particular dam, out of the several dozen the mining company Vale operates in the region, because there was a cafeteria in the way. This would guarantee maximum casualties. That's why the explosions took place at 12:28 PM, the middle of lunchtime.

It is worth remembering that, in Brazil, restaurants and cafeterias are most crowded at this time, since lunch is the main meal for Brazilians.

  2. this same company have a project right now in manitoba. im sure the polices or w.e. are different but it aint far from the hudson bay.

  3. Brumadinho (Mariana) tragedy was terrifying, Vale the miner of this dam said that another dam can breach in a random time due to bad conditions, i want it to dont breach, did you think about how many peoples died here?

  4. Let this be a lesson for the DWR for OROVILLE DAM in Northern Calfornia, different types of dams, BUT same criminal politically-motivated, greedy, disgusting, despicable, lying people in charge. So very sorry for your tragedy. Those misleading and ignoring people in peril should rot in hell.

  5. Corporate murder indeed.
Looks like Johnstown all over again:

A dam is built or maintained by people who don’t know a thing about the power of water, ignore all the specialist advice to either push an agenda or to cut costs whatever the reason, times passes until one day, BOOM, the dam LITERALLY disintegrates, claims countless lives and they make fools of themselves in the process by apologising or something, even though they could’ve done something about it, like a build a more impermeable structure that’ll hold back your damn liquid.

It’s happened time and time again throughout history:
    Bilberry Flood, UK, 1852
    The Johnstown Flood of 1889
St Francis Dam Disaster of 1928
Baldwin Hills Dam failure in 1963
    Vajont Dam tsunami in 1963
    Teton Dam failure in 1976

So many lives lost, so many millions sometimes billions of dollars in damages, such widespread potential devastation, and still not a single lesson is learned.

  6. I would not mind this kind of thing so much if only those responsible for the disaster, in this case those who failed to properly design and maintain this dam, were killed and the only ones killed. But that's never the case. In fact, often those most responsible end up drinking pina coladas on a beach somewhere.

  7. Precisamos mudar… Os acionistas ganham… Os investidores ganham e os proprietários bilhões… Processo produtivo arcaico para manter a oligarquia mundial do poder

  8. All our science. All our hopes…our dreams are foolish! In the face of this, we are dust, nothing more. Unto this dust, we return. When he chooses for us to die, it is not our place to challenge God.
