Every day, thousands of ships all across the globe travel over seas, up rivers, and through canals, transporting supplies and people vast distances. Most of the time, these journeys are made without a hitch, but every once in a while mother nature, and human error result in monumental collisions and monumental damage. Here are five of the worst ship crashes that have been captured on camera.
5. Water Under the Bridge
Sometimes, boat crashes do not involve multiple ships. In this video clip, some kind of cargo boat can be seen careening down an over flooded river. Judging by the water, and the fact that the ship appears to be empty, one can assume that the ship was docked upstream, but got loose thanks to the increased current. Here, the cargo boat can be seen crashing into a low level bridge connecting two sections of the city. The boat hits the bridge with such force, it causes the boat to immediately tip sideways and capsize. Had anyone been on the boat at the time, they would have been severely injured…or much worse.
4. Sailing Goes Wrong
Despite extensive training and a lot of professional experience, the world of competitive sailing can be very dangerous. In the span of a few seconds, you can see how rough seas and sudden shift in wind can send a racing sailboat careening sideways. As the sailboat turns sideways, the crew try to cling to its base. Unfortunately, all three crew members quickly lose their grip, and they tumble to the other side, fighting to remain out of the water.
3. Breaking Into Pieces
Sometimes when watching boats crash, you can’t help but think, ‘that captain definitely got fired.’ And with this video, that seems very likely. In this video, there seems to be some lapse in communication between said captain and the individuals who oversee a massive drawbridge. Either the captain failed to notify them quickly enough, or the individuals manning the bridge miscalculated the ship’s speed. Whoever is ultimately to blame, the entire smokestack on the ship was ripped off and fell into the water. A five second error resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in repairs.
2. Cruising Goes Awry
Most people would give just about anything to own a luxury yacht. No doubt, they envision relaxing cruises in the sun, accompanied by beer and beautiful women. But no matter how tantalizing the party on deck seems, the captain of the ship must always pay attention to their surroundings. In this clip, we see two expensive yachts collide together with dire consequences. While it seems nobody was hurt from the collision, the smaller of the two ships sustained heavy damage to its upper deck. This crash could have been easily avoided by both parties.

1. Total Destruction
It should come as no surprise that most ship crashes take place near docking stations specifically designed for cargo ships. In this video, a large ship is attempting to pass by a large silo where ships have been docked, but the captain miscalculated the ship’s trajectory by an alarming amount. Unable to stop the massive ship in time, it collides with a smaller, docked, ship and practically saws it in half.

Stranger both root fenphs forest potential.
The smaller of the two yacht's had to yield to the larger vessel as it was the burdened vessel. The smaller of the two was at fault and I think their insurance company might have problems paying for the damages to the smaller of the two! In opinion, as a former Coast Guardsman, I feel that the whole crew of the smaller craft was stoned out of their minds if not totally Drunk out of what's left of their idiotic minds!
Once again, another stupid video with regurgitated footage from over a decade ago.one day we will find some new stuff to watch.
