28. one thing I wanna say: it's lovely that this channel promotes rescue or adoption, especially of pit bulls who aren't even freely allowed in my home of uk sadly, however one thing you need to know about rescues (and any dog really, but emotionally damaged dogs most of all) is that once they attach themselves to you, if you don't put certain training in place they can get separation anxiety and/or aggression toward anyone but you. this isn't the classic whining when you're gone or gazing out of the window – watch a few eps of It's Me Or The Dog on separation anxiety and you'll see what can happen – it's panic attacks, trashing your home, jumping out of / through windows, and on the flipside, more territorial behaviour. of course it's a case by case basis and plenty are well behaved and adjusted, but even some of these videos downplay problems like crazy greed, doing anything to get food etc, which is natural for a dog who's had so little before. while it's natural to baby your dog a bit if they've had a rough time before, it's important to make sure they know who the head of the pack is and that they know doing as they're told is beneficial for them.
