6. This is so sad. And the problem with the U.S., (you know, the country that thinks it is the smartest in the world), is that there are so many inconsistant animal cruelty laws for each state, the system fails. If we look at places with individual states like Australia, or even the United Kingdom, with its different counties, the laws involving animal cruelty, and indeed most other laws, are similar in each region. America is so diverse it is a joke, if not so serious. Unfortunately the U.S. will probably never change in this regard, and remain with its "wild west" mentality. You only have to look at horse racing and harness racing in the U.S to see how poorly "policed" horse events can be. But then again they cannot even get their guns under control, so what chance of anything else? For a country that thinks it is so smart and progressive, and thinks it can "police the whole world", it isn't that smart at all.

    ignore their pets ? They are speechless does NOT mean that they should be left hungry, thirsty and abandoned once their service and duties are no longer required, does it ha ?

Why can’t some ‘humans respect their rights?’ Why don’t (WE) some humans be kind and sympathetic ? Treat ‘beautiful animals and creatures with love and respect. Infect, help them and rescue them take some good deeds along with us ? Leaving good examples for our future generation! I learnt to love, help, rescue any/all kinds of animals from my late beloved Mom, and i am so thankful for that!

29. Thousands of horses in pens in TX to go to other countries for slaughter. US doesn't slaughter so they ship to other countries who do.

34. To previous owners they were only livestock, tools and they got no real caring or rights to a good life. Some Amish believe this and that god gave them dominion over the animals to do as they please. Many puppy mills are owned by Amish. Not all Amish do this but it is a belief in their religion.

36. Veterinarian and author, James Herriot, wrote of old farmers honoring their working horses, recognizing they helped them survive and progress. It is a lot of money, space to take care of a working horse but it is sad they were overall abandoned and abused.

37. 3 guesses as to the”farming community “!! There is only one group who uses draft type horses for farming. This “farming community” are also engaged in puppy mills and many other forms of cruelty.

45. Those poor horses. Farmers are needed for our food but they need to massively fined when they are caught treating animals like this. I am wondering if they came from an Amish community. Modern farms don't use work animals anymore. They have trackers and the like.
