Sichuan food is one of China’s 8 main cuisines. Out of all Chinese cooking, Sichuan food is my favourite Chinese food. It’s spicy, numbing, fragrant, and very strong. You become addicted to Sichuan flavours and love watching and learning how to make Chinese food, as the chefs prepare it.

Here, I shot a video with a local Chengdu girl who wanted to eat some delicious fish with me. This Sichuan fish was prepared in Garlic and a “fragrant” broth, which was also quite spicy. It was really delicious. Sichuan food is awesome! I brought her here to this restaurant and it was the first time she tried that flavour! I would love to have that sauce on some chicken too haha!

  3. Wow!! Love the fish. This is definitely food porn. You’ve explained it amazingly well in Chinese & in English. I can almost feel the silky smooth texture of the fish and also I can almost smell the fragrance from the garlic, and the coriander from my iPhone. Waa!! Tai Hoa Le!!

  4. Their saliva mingling in the fish dish & then mixed up together even more when it was re-cooked again .. I guess both their saliva mixed up in the dish even more was an added flavor ? Was she happy about that ? .. xD ..

  7. Exchange rate has changed, now over US$29. Europe or N Am US$25-29 would be cheap, but in China, that's a bit expensive. You can often get delicious fish dish for 100 kwai (under $15), even in Shanghai.
